Letter to Family
Taking care of children has always been one of the biggest parts of my life. I started
watching kids on my own when I was 9 years old and the ages of kids that I have watched
and been in charge of ranges from newborn to 16 years old. I have taken care of preemies,
children with disabilities, and I'm very good in handling emergency situations. I have
been doing both Sunday school and child care at my church for the past nine years. During
the summer, I help with a day school, and also volunteer frequently as a camp counselor.
In order to provide the best care possible, I have taken the CPR, babysitting, and
life-guarding courses at the American Red Cross, along with having my food handlers card
as you know.
In addition, I've also spent an entire summer as a nanny for a beautiful and sweet
one-year old baby girl, Claire, whom I was in charge of caring for 8-11 hours a day. It
was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. In order to provide the best care
possible, I have taken the CPR, babysitting, and life-guarding courses at the American
Red Cross, along with having my food handlers card.
I started working on my major in Early Childhood Education during my Junior year of High
School, in hopes of becoming a preschool--grade school teacher. My mother is a
professional chef and has taught me to be a very good cook, and I do have a Food Handler's
card. Not only can I cook well, but I am a very clean person, and I always try to leave a
house I've been in, in better shape than I came into it. I'm very comfortable with pets
and any type of schedule regarding a child's needs. I really do love having fun with the
children that I take care of. Whether it's by playing games, doing crafts, being active,
or just hanging out with them. I strongly believe that when you watch kids, you should be
there for them, not just hanging out in front of the TV or sending them off to their rooms
to play by themselves. I take a lot of pride in having been told by many people that I
really have a talent and gift when it comes to all areas of interacting with kids.
