Letter to Family
Hello families! I am seeking a fun, caring family that hopefully enjoys some of the same
activities as myself. I recently graduated from Truman State University with a bachelor's
degree in English-Linguistics. I hope to eventually teach English as a second language,
but first I want to explore the world. As I love children, I thought that being an au
pair would be a great place to begin this adventure.
I enjoy a variety of activities from music and theatre to sports and being outdoors. I
have played piano since I was 4-years old, sang since I was 2-years old, and also played
trumpet for 10 years. I was in an a cappella group and service organization during my
university career. I participated in theatre during high school and continued to take
theatre courses at my university. I enjoy playing sports, especially swimming,
softball/baseball, badminton, volleyball, and basketball. I also love going to sporting
events such as the sports listed above as well as soccer (football- I follow the English
Premier League and La Liga), rugby, and even cricket (though I don't understand the sport
too well yet). As far as being outdoors, I love going camping, canoeing, and hiking. I
love taking pictures to document my travels, and scrapbooking (memory book making) has
become a hobby as a result.
I have worked with children as young as newborns and have also been a camp counselor for
children ages 10-17. Every age group has something fun and challenging to work with, and
I always look forward to learning new things! The culture exchange of being an au pair
appeals to me most of all. I would be able to help teach English, cook American food, and
share in being a part of your family, as well. I am willing to obtain a visa for
whatever country you live in, and all arrangements between myself and your family are
negotiable to suit your needs.
If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a message.
